Oxford has made the announcement of three, entirely new, compulsory, subject specifications of O-Level (IGCSE) examination, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies and Urdu with a monumental step forward in realizing the much desired aim of empowering Pakistani students with education of universal concern, but with Pakistani roots.
It is not merely a renovation, it is a revolution! These curricula are specifically created to meet the unique educational environment of Pakistan and to prepare students to think critically, possess analytical skills and learn about their heritage, as well as become ready to succeed on the international stage.
Oxford New Syllabus
The new syllabus are carefully composed to give a holistic view of the rich tapestry that Pakistan has:
- Pakistan Studies: Explore the interesting history and the geography of this country.
- Islamiyat: Learn the deep teachings, traditions and values of Islam.
- Urdu: Practice the beauty and affluence of Urdu language and literature.
According to Oxford the content is done in simple, clear language and thus complex topics are accessible. More importantly, it also attracts crucial connections with the global processes and emphasizes the important role of Pakistan in the international arena which leads to the comprehensive global vision.
