The Punjab Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has brought good news for students by raising the number of attempts for school exams from four to six. The change aims to assist those who find it difficult to pass or those who want to re-improve their marks.
Key Highlights of the New Policy:
- The number of attempts for exams has been increased from four to six.
- This is within a period of four years.
- This applies to Matriculation, Intermediate, O Level and A Level (all boards) students in Punjab.
- Students availing of these additional attempts will have to study the current/latest syllabus, rather than the old version they studied initially.
- It will also apply to students who have passed the exam but want to write additional subjects.
The new policy will come into effect from annual exams 2024 onwards. The authorities hope this will ease the pressure on students and make it easier for them to finish their education.
